Description

In the Mercedes-Benz E-Class of cars, the “E” stands for “Executive,” and the name fits the product. Coming out of Europe as a mid-sized luxury car, the E-Class vehicle has grown from the staid sedan to a vehicle of many styling options. Though there are many copy-cat models from other manufacturers, the fact remains that the original is still finding an ever-increasing market.

The E-Class line of vehicles offers comfortable seating for five passengers in the sedan models and seven passengers in the wagon version. The sedan also offers a minimum of 19.1 cubic feet of cargo space in the sedan and up to 53.6 cubic feet in the wagon.

The seats are luxurious and offer more than ample room for occupants to spread out and enjoy the ride. The driver can choose from a variety of ride modes to enhance comfort levels depending on road conditions.

Coming as an original concept onto a market set in the 1990s where vehicles were either utilitarian or luxurious saloons, the E line of cars created a new niche. The market expanded to include entries into the European wagon niche, the hatch craze, and into the hybrid market. Today, the E-Class of vehicles includes two main sections: the E-Class and the AMG E-Class.

  • Newly designed seats
  • Redesigned rounded tailpipe tips
  • Double power domes for the hood
  • Additions to the Driver Assist Package
  • A surround panorama to detect outside hazards such as blind spot and pedestrian traffic

Competitors

Since the creation of the Executive vehicle, the E line of vehicles has seen a dramatic increase in competition. When the market took off, other manufacturers couldn't pass up the growing niche. Those cars include:

  • Auto-dimming rearview mirror
  • Bluetooth connection

Mercedes interior package options are available for every purchaser of new vehicles.

Technological Advantages Found in the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Line of Vehicles

Many can remember the days when technology upgrades included the AM/FM radio and maybe a tape player of some kind as well. Mercedes is tenacious in its pursuit of technological upgrades that have meaning for its occupants. Owners discover these standard pieces of equipment to have value:

  • Seat memory
  • Auxiliary audio control
  • Navigation system
  • Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone calls
  • USB connectors
  • Electronic tire monitoring system

What are Some Safety Features?

The people at Mercedes-Benz value life, and it's shown through the safety measure they've added to their E line of cars, including:

  • Blind spot and lane departure warning systems
  • A full range of air bags
  • Anti-lock brakes
  • Stability control to detect and prevent the possibility of a rollover
  • Pretensioners that automatically move an occupant into the ideal impact position when they detect possible impact

Drivability

The 2019 version of the Mercedes E-Class E 300 sedan, and its 4matic cousin, comes standard with a 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 241 horsepower. The E-Class E 450, the wagon version, comes with a 3-liter V6 motor that delivers 362 horsepower. The car comes standard with rear wheel-drive and has an option with an all-wheel drive.

The AMG E models come with the 3-liter engine with an electric motor auxiliary.

Mercedes builds all of its cars with a suspension system that provides various comfort levels depending on the riding mode chosen. With front coil spring that act at sports car levels and a rear independent suspension system, the E-Class vehicles present a smooth ride on any surface.

Fuel economy levels vary based on the model of the E-Class vehicle. The 3-liter engine gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, while the 2-liter gets 24 and 29 mpg, respectively. The AMG vehicles get a higher mileage of 28.36 due to being an electric hybrid.

Why Buy New?

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class line of vehicles is under a continuous cycle of improvement. As noted earlier, the 2019 version of these cars has seen a significant upgrade in spite of not being a part of a “new generation” of the line. Time is an ever-occurring event in the Mercedes lines of cars, so buying new brings you the latest in technologies.

Consistent Quality

Time and time again, Mercedes proves that value resides in quality, not quantity. Many see the purchasing of a Mercedes-Benz E-Class car as an upgrade to their former vehicle.

Model History

Emerging from the early success of the full-sized S-Class of Benz cars, the E-class was the first premium mid-sized auto of its kind. Back in the 1990s, when this mid-sized luxury Executive car came on the scene, people viewed it as an aberration. That aberration took hold and found a large following.

Since its inception, the E-Class line of vehicles presented by Mercedes has been the “wanted” car. Competitors have pursued it, tried to outmaneuver its designers, and have been attempting to test the Mercedes lead in the market. Still, the manufacturer holds the title as the most revered in the industry.

The future looks promising for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class line of cars, as the engineers and designers continue to adapt with the times. Great reviews continue to come in for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
